Job Brief:

As an Interface Manager for Airport IT and Non-IT Systems, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration and interoperability between various technological systems used within the airport environment. This role involves managing interfaces between IT systems such as flight information systems, baggage handling systems, security systems, and non-IT systems like physical infrastructure, mechanical systems, and communication networks. The Interface Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing operational efficiency, enhancing passenger experience, and maintaining airport security by facilitating effective communication and data exchange between different systems.

Responsibilities:

Interface Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of interfaces between IT and non-IT systems within the airport infrastructure.

System Integration: Coordinate the integration of diverse systems to ensure compatibility, reliability, and performance across the airport’s technological landscape.

Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements for interface functionality, performance, and security.

Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors and service providers to procure, deploy, and maintain interface solutions that meet the airport’s technical and operational requirements.

Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing procedures to verify the functionality, interoperability, and reliability of interface connections.

Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot interface issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize system downtime and disruptions.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of interface configurations, protocols, standards, and operational procedures.

Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity protocols to safeguard sensitive data and protect critical airport operations.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to airport staff and stakeholders on interface usage, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices for system integration.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor interface performance metrics, gather feedback, and propose enhancements to optimize system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience minimum 5 year in interface management, system integration, or related roles within the airport industry or a comparable field.
  3. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and software development methodologies.
  4. Proficiency in interface protocols and technologies such as API, TCP/IP, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, etc.
  5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  7. Knowledge of airport operations, regulations, and industry standards is a plus.
  8. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or relevant technical certifications is desirable.
