Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced architect to join our team in the design and construction of opera theater projects. As an opera theater architect, you will play a crucial role in creating spaces that seamlessly blend aesthetic elegance with functional excellence, providing immersive experiences for performers and audiences alike.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design Development: Translate conceptual designs into detailed architectural plans, incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical systems to ensure the integrity and functionality of the theater.
2. Space Planning: Conduct thorough analyses of spatial requirements, circulation patterns, and acoustical considerations to optimize the layout and flow of the theater space.
3. Material Selection: Research and select appropriate materials which include Seating, Flooring, Acoustic curtains, wall linings, all other fit-outs, etc. finishes, and furnishings that align with the aesthetic vision and performance needs of the opera theater, while adhering to budgetary constraints and sustainability goals.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about local building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards, ensuring that all designs comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction phases to facilitate coordination and resolve any design-related issues that may arise.
6. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of construction, verify adherence to design specifications, and address any deviations or deficiencies in a timely manner.
7. Client Liaison: Serve as the Primary point of contact for clients, Consultant, Main Contractor, subcontractor, etc.., Providing regular updates on project status, addressing their concerns and feedback, and ensuring their satisfaction with the final deliverables.
8. Engineering: Full design, engineering, production of shop drawings, manufacture, installation, setting to work, commissioning, hand over to the client.

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Professional licensure as an architect (or eligibility for licensure).
• Proven experience in designing performing arts venues, with a focus on opera theaters preferred.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and sustainability principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
